  • Do I need to update my NJ FID to buy a new gun or buy ammo and have it shipped to my new address?

  • Fred, yes, you will not be able to do the transfer if your address doesn't match. Unfortunately, in NJ, you can't just update your address, you have to re-apply for your FID all over again, and go thru the whole process. Start here >>> njportal.com/NJSP/Fars/

  • Unfortunately yes, you would have to update your address to buy anything. I Live in PA and moved recently and couldn't pick up a firearm because my driver's license didn't show my current residence. Sorry but hope this helps.
