  • When attaching the stock to a pistol, does it simply slide into place, or does a gunsmith need to do "Something" to attach?

  • Yes it will but you will have to register it and pay for the $200 tax stamp to make it an Short Barreled Rifle. If you put a brace on it(that slides into place), it will still be considered a pistol. I hope the clarifies the legalities of stocks/braces. Stay safe and happy plinking!!

  • DO NOT ADD A STOCK without the proper tax stamps for a SBR you can add a brace

  • A pistol brace just slides into place, very simple and no gunsmith needed. For a stock though you would need a $200 tax stamp. Hope this helps.

  • Dale, the Brace basically slides into place. Adding a Stock changes the classification to a SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) needing NFA Registration and a $200 Tax Stamp. Brace does not. Example with installed Brace here : maximdefense.com/product/pdx/
