  • GOT MY NEW SAINT EDGE, TOOK IT TO RANGE WITH 300 ROUNDS OF BLACK BOX TULA .556. JAMMED QUITE A FEW TIMES, MOSTLY FAILURE TO EJECT. CALLED SPRINGFIELD ARMORY, THEY SAID TULA POOR QUALITY, BUY BETTER AMMO. SHOULD MENTION WAS USING FOUR NEW P-MAGS,10, 20, AND 30 ROUNDERS. ALL HAD TROUBLE. WHEN U READ REVIEWS, NO ONE ELSE MENTIONS THIS... AFTER 180 ROUNDS CALLED IT QUITS. BOUGHT EDGE CAUSE 35 OUT OF 35 REVIEWS ON BUD'S GUSHED OVER IT AND GAVE IT FIVE STARS-NOT MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR.

  • Tom, I would listen to Springfield and try better ammo.

  • Some ar15s have issue running steel cased ammo. I'd try running some brass threw it for the Break in period of around 500 rounds. After that Clean and lube it really well and try again. It could be under or over gassed. Watch the ejection pattern of the spent casings. You want between a 3-430 ejection, if so it's not a gas issue. If it's 12-3 o'clock it's over gassed. If it's 430-6 o'clock ejection it's under gassed. Knowing the ejection pattern will help narrow down what the issue might be if any. Most likely it just doesn't like the brand of ammo or just needs broke in. Sorry you're having issues but hope this helps.

  • I try to avoid Tula ammo and I suspect that it is a large part of your issues. Try some different brands of ammo and see what happens. keep records and if the problem keeps happening contact springfield with the recorded results

  • Some rifles are picky. That being said I would never buy a premium AR and run Tula through it. I also would shoot a couple thousand rounds or so before I even thought about feeding it steel cased ammo. Moral to the story try other ammo before you blame the rifle. If it is the rifle Springfield will fix it with no issues. Stay safe and happy plinking!!

  • Tom, even firearms can have individual idiosyncrasies with certain ammunition. I would switch and try a few brands of ammunition before you write it off completely. If your issues are common with better quality or wider variation of ammunition types then Springfield will need to correct or replace it in my opinion. Cheers and stay safe!
