I’m having an issue with my slide stop not releasing when I have an empty magazine in my Tisas 1911. Is that normal?

Steve, yes that's normal, after you fire the last shot, the slide stays open. That is why it will stay open with an empty magazine. Have a great day!
Steve, that is normal operation Sir. Just drop the magazine and/or load a new loaded magazine to continue the business at hand. This is the operation of most Semi-Auto Handguns. Cheers and stay safe!
The follower in the magazine is pushing up on the slide stop lever, you have to press a little harder on the slide stop to push it back down.

With an empty Magazine, yes thats normal, drop the Magazine before releasing the slide, or insert a full Magazine.
