  • I was wondering if these guns in decent condition? Reason I ask I have seen some for sale on other sites and see some that were received in horrible condition. I don't expect pristine condition, but don't want to be sorry I bought it either.

  • From other reviews I've read most of them seem to be in decent condition. Unfortunately it's luck of the draw, so you have the chance to get one in pristine condition or may get one that's rusted, cracked stock and rough looking. My best advice is if you buy one thoroughly inspect it before you transfer it into your name at your FFL dealers. If it's not in decent shape you always have the option to refuse the transfer and your FFL dealer will ship it back to buds at no cost to you and you'll be refunded. After it's transferred into your name it's yours. Hope this helps.

  • Tim, it is luck of the draw. I would read the reviews to get a better idea of what to expect. These rifles have seen active combat so they are in used condition, NRA rated Fair to Good. Please keep in mind these SKS rifles are Military Surplus, not trophy rifles. Stock sets may have dings, trench art or minor cracks, but all will be solid and serviceable just not pretty. Metal parts may have bluing worn off and rough stocks, but they will have good bores and are functioning rifles. Have a great day!

  • Timothy, these are shooter grade and on a scale of 1 to 10 are averaging a solid 6 to 7. I wish Buds would offer a Hand Pick Option of which I would be willing to pay. Cheers and stay safe!

  • One of the reviews says "It is pretty well what you would expect in a surplus rifle. The metal was in better than expected shape. The wood is usually not in good shape but this one was better than most. Like other reviews it took alot of cleanup but was prepared for that. For the money it is a good buy and will buy another. The bonus was it had a cleaning rod and all the numbers matched."
So be prepared to get a new stock possibly but I'd guess it's probably an alright rifle
