short action or long action clip

I have a remington 7400 carbine and i want to know if i should use a short action clip or long action i have read there is less jamming with a short action. feedback would be appreciated

The caliber will determine if it is a short action are a long action IE .308 243, 7mm08, 260 is Short 30-06, 270, 280, 25-06 is long

Long action would be 30-06, 270, 280, 25-06. Short would be 243, 308, 7mm08, 260

Robert, caliber will play a big role. I would not be too concerned with either magazine that fits your caliber carbine. Magazine construction construction has come a long way from yester year and the straight side mags should prove reliable either short or long action. ***P.S. short action mags do have less flex***
