  • I'll be leaving Massachusetts after I retire in August, and I was looking at states that actually support 2A and a conservative take on life. I'd prefer to leave my winter heating bills behind as well. Does anyone care to make suggestions or say why their state is a great choice? Thanks, Tricia

  • Patricia, the best state to be a gun owner would hands down be Texas. I live in Pennsylvania and right now our gun laws are pretty good. Just stay away from, California, new York, new jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois might have the worse gun laws. Hope this helps and good luck moving.

  • Definitely Texas. Open carry for residents and concealed carry license available also and very easy to get. Warm 85 to 90 percent of the year. Low cost of living. GREAT hunting. Too many positives to list.

  • Tricia, definitely look at Texas. Not only is TX 2A friendly (a permit is required for concealed carry) taxes are low, and daytime winter temps are in the 50's on average. TX does have an 8.25% sales tax, but you save SO much on taxes (NO state income tax), it's well worth it!
