Sean, either would work great as a entry level ak. Out of the two the kusa 103 is better quality but it's also roughly $300 more. So it's up to you if a little better quality is worth the extra money. Another great option is the zastava arms zpap m70 wich is roughly priced Right in-between the two you're looking at. KUSA is of high quality with better QC than Riley Defense. If you don't mind imported AK, then wasr, rh10, m10, ake or zastava are great and relatively more affordable. I hope this helps!
