Brian, there are plenty of legal bullpup shotguns in Maryland. Looks like James mistakenly meant rifles have to be over 29 inches, not shotguns. Here's a list of restrictions on shotguns in Maryland................... Shotguns with a capacity over 10 rounds in a detachable magazine are restricted.
✘ Semi-automatic shotgun that has a folding stock (Not including telescoping [collapsible] stock) are restricted.
✘ Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
The following are permitted..
✔ Kel-Tec KSG, DP-12, and similar pump shotguns with fixed tubular magazines, which
may contain 10 rounds or more, are permitted. So plenty of bullpup shotguns are still legal. Brian, the 29" overall length rule applies to rifles only, not shotguns. With regards to your inquiry on the Bullpup, You really should speak to your local FFL dealer.

MD has some strange laws that are always changing please check with your local dealer (FFL)

Brian, There are some overall length laws you need to be aware of with bullpups- they must be over 29 inches long. This is true of bullpup rifles as well. I would ask a local FFL Dealer for the latest laws of bullpups. Cheers and stay safe!
