  • Hi all, a couple of questions: 1. Any recommendations for a not-expensive SA/DA 22LR revolver? 2. Why are so many 22LR revolvers single action? Seems like they should all be double action. Thanks...

  • Richard, If you want DA/SA 22lr revolver I agree with Edward on the diamondback sidekick. Here's a link to one if interested................. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/141027/diamondback+db0500a001+sidekick+22+lr22+mag+9rd+4.50+black+cerakote+zinc+frame+black+polymer+grips ................... I've owned two heritage rough riders and while only single action great revolvers for the price. The Ruger Wranglers also a good single action. As to why there's so many single action I'd imagine first they'd be cheaper to make and people tend to lean towards single action for target/range time and double action for defense. Personally I'm with you and wondered why manufacturers don't make all revolvers DA/SA because if you don't like DA just don't use that feature and it's nice to have in case you would ever need too. I know single action only tends to have a better trigger than SA/DA when used in SA. That and in some competitions DA isn't allowed but that's only reasons I can think of. Hope this helps and you're very welcome.

  • for inexpensive its hard to beat the heritage 22lr line. the best single action is the ruger single six series of course the can be pricey but with patience you can sometimes find them on the used market at a good price for double action I would look at the taurus tracker , the ruger LCR and SP101

  • Richard, as someone who actually owns this gun, I would suggest the Diamondback Sidekick. Not only is this SA/DA, it has a 9rd capacity and you get both a 22lr cylinder along with a 22wmr cylinder. Some of the reviews here are not great, but I have had no problems with mine. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/141027/diamondback+db0500a001+sidekick+22+lr22+mag+9rd+4.50+black+cerakote+zinc+frame+black+polymer+grips

  • Hi Richard, Heritage makes some good revolvers in 22lr and Ruger and others. I highly recommend the Taurus Tracker 22Mag/22LR Revolver. Out of stock at Buds (budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/75413/taurus+992b6+m992+tracker+9rd+22lr+22mg+6.5) but available here : https://firearms-texas.com/product/taurus-model-992-tracker-22lr-22-magnum-black-revolver/
