  • Are there any restrictions or requirements for the purchase of handguns online? I am 67 years old and live in Indiana.

  • Norman, the only requirement is that it must be sent to a FFL near you, who will do your background check and paperwork. You just put the gun in your cart and proceed to checkout. At checkout you will choose your FFL. You will be shown a list of FFL's near you based on your zip code. I have purchased many handguns on line, it is a relatively simple process. FFL locator here budsgunshop.com/ffl.php

  • Hi Norman, no restrictions in Indiana Sir, save for ordering online, selecting a local FFL Dealer by Zip Code/distance from you to have it shipped to and call you in to do the paperwork, pay the transfer fee (Usually $25 to $40) depending on FFL Dealer. Then you walk out with your shiny new toy. Cheers and stay safe. You will select your FFL during checkout : budsgunshop.com/ffl.php

  • Norman, there aren't any restrictions but you would be required to send it to an FFL dealer/gunshop and do a background check/transfer as if you were buying it from a in person shop. Very simple to do. Just add the firearm to your cart and proceed to checkout. First page will ask Wich FFL dealer/gunshop you want to use. Buds has a FFL locator, so just type in your zip code and it'll show you FFL dealers near you. After you pick a FFL just choose how you wish to pay and enter your card information if required and confirm order. After that buds will ship the firearm to the FFL dealer you chose. Once it's delivered you can go pick it up and do the background check/transfer. Pretty much the same as buying one in person. You're just buying and having it shipped to the FFL dealer/gunshop. Hope this helps.

  • Any handgun purchased online would just need to be sent to a Local FFL Of your choosing. Once it arrives and you inspect and accept it, you can move forward with the transfer. Shops usually charge a nominal fee ($20-$40) for the paperwork. Etc. Then you'll fill out your 4473 form and they will conduct a background check.
All of the above providing that in your state you have a CCW permit or a restricted permit for home and range if that's what they offer. If your state doesn't require a permit to own/carry then the above would not apply.
