  • have 1937 Luger want to fire some rounds which 9mm would risk the least chance of damage?

  • Hi John and welcome. Many of us do not shoot collectable pistols. With that said, I do fire "shooter" grade Lugers . Understand that parts on these Lugers do break, even with the right ammunition.
    The metallurgy of the Mauser made guns is very good, perhaps among the best ever manufactured in this gun.
    Use standard velocity (not "NATO" velocity) ammunition like the 115gn or 124gn Sellers and Beloit which is often available in Europe. Use brass case ammo. Avoid surplus ammunition, some of which is highly charged and intended for submachine guns.
