No, it is not Mandatory but, why not add it in the event of a missing or damaged package.

Hi Thomas and welcome. It is not mandatory and is optional. Just opt out during checkout. It averages out to $1.25 to $1.50 per $100 of purchase price which is small for peace of mind. Cheers and stay safe!
