So, I recently bought a mossberg patriot chambered in 300 win mag from Buds, process went smoothly as usual, have loved the gun.
I also purchased from buds a box of 20 Winchester super x, and it went smoothly as well. All fired perfectly
I then purchased two boxes of the same ammo, and some rounds will not let the bolt go all the way down. I think out of 40, 7 or so will not properly chamber. Is it an issue with my gun? Or the ammo?

Allen, this sounds like you may have got a bad (slightly out of spec) lot of ammunition. Check to see if the rounds are uniform length, bullet seat depth and crimp wise. Super X should be at your local stores to try a box or two to confirm. If another box works, only buy that lot number. if you get the same hang ups then it may be an issue with your rifle.
