Any standard 9mm ammunition will work in the Micro 9. I would stick with standard 115gr FMJ for practice and 115 JHP for self defense. 115gr FMJ for practice or 115 JHP for self defense. Remember Kimbers get finicky. Run about 500 rounds down the pipe to break them in. Try different ammos to see which feels better to you. I love all of my Kimbers as if broken in properly they'll shoot any ammo. Try Winchester White Box or Fiocchi.

In the smaller handguns many people are going to the polymer composite bullets for lighter recoil. They come in practice and self defense configuration.
