  • Hey Darin, all standard handguns are "Semi Auto" meaning one pull of the trigger for each round fired. Double action means you have the same trigger pull weight for each shot. Double action/Single action means the first pull is a heavier pull and subsequent trigger pulls are lighter pulls for each shot.

  • semi auto is a action that means that the firing of one shell cycles the action to load the next shell. double action is a trigger pull where the pulling of the trigger brings the hammer from the rest position to the cocked position and then fires the gun with the same trigger pull (most common on revolvers) Double action/ single action the 1st trigger pull brings the hammer from the rest position to the cocked position and then fires the gun with the same trigger pull (just like the DA) then the cycling of the gun leaves the hammer in the firing position and for the 2nd trigger pull the gun fires with a much lighter trigger pull (most common on semi auto pistols)

  • Double action refers to trigger action, semi auto refers to method of extraction and reloading chamber.

  • Hi Darin, Semi Auto means you pull the trigger once for each round fired. Double action means you have the same trigger pull weight for each shot. Double action/Single action means the first pull is a heavier pull and subsequent trigger pulls are lighter pulls for each shot. When you pull the trigger you're not releasing it all the way before your next shot. You will feel it click then you can fire again.
