  • Trying to find a reliable handgun in 9MM that is around 31/2” barrel Length! Was interested in the Steyr C9A1 but some reviews say M9A1 better gun. And then I see problems with extraction on those are common. I’m a new shooter and won’t be able to fix issues on my on and don’t want my new gun to be on vacation getting repaired
All the time. I have also considered the Ruger American Compact, which has
3.55” barrel. It’s a fairly new model that may be more reliable? Would appreciate some advic

  • I'd recommend the S&W Shield it has a 3.1" barrel but is a reliable, easy to shoot firearm that is not ammo sensitive and it feels great in the hand. I just bought a second one for my wife and she hits whatever she puts the front sight on and she loves it. Right now you can't beat the price.

  • My Glock 26 has over 7,000 rounds through it with nary a problem. Accurate out to a 100 yd. silhouette.

  • Why not look into a glock? They're reliable and very easy to do any repairs. I've never had to do repairs but I do add alot of upgrades to mine.

  • My personal choice would be the Sig 320CB9 (Verify Upgrade status) or the Ruger American Compact. They both are great pistols and have not exhibited any of the issues of the Steyr or M9A1.
