the trigger housing on the gen 5 has a bump on it that will not allow the slide plate of the gen 4 to pass over it. I did manage to put a gen 5 slide on the gen 4 frame so the striker block may still function. You may be able to change the back plate on the slide to get around the trigger housing issue.

No the striker block safety is shaped different and so is the transfer bar that actuates it. There may be other differences but that is the first one that comes to mind.
