This weapon in prohibited in NY as it is semi-auto with a detachable magazine AND a pistol grip (https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/feeds/state_reg/new_york_restrictions.pdf), but people seem to have recommended it in other threads... Has anyone in NY actually had issues purchasing one?

Something (understandably) not, generally advertised with these types of soft panels is that, although they may stop a bullet, they wont stop it from breaking a rib or 2, or leaving a bruise the size of a paper plate. Isn't that the case?
